Does it really have to be white ?   The Broadcom HCMS-2971 thru HCMS-2975 offer red, orange yellows and blues and meet your size requirements.  VERY bright.

1.5inches wide would be great.

This is for preset displays on a pedal.

No LCD since they are not readable on sunlight..

Any idea ?
