[sdiy] Alpha Juno battery replacement

I've been saying for 30+ years that someone like Keystone Electronics needs to make a 
retrofit CR2032 battery holder that has the same lead spacing as the CR2032 batteries 
that have spot welded leads.

CR2032 battery holders don't fit the footprint of the old CR2032s with solder tabs.  I recommend getting some of those PCBs in the link above ordered and installing a battery holder in its place.  Then next time you need to replace the battery you don't need a soldering iron.

Syntaur looks to be backordered with replacements.  can anyone recommend an alternative solution?  Preference for a battery that isn't spot welded to the clip.

Just changed the battery in my Roland Alpha Juno 2 that was likely 40 years 
old!  The old Sanyo CR2032 coin cell looked fine from the top (+) side, 
measured 3.295v and hadn't shown any battery warning message on the synth's 
display.  In fact it's terminal voltage was higher than my brand new 
Panasonic CR2032s that both measured 3.278v.  However, when I de-soldered it 
the hidden underside was covered in tiny crystals and green crud (>.<) 
Looks like I got there just in time!  So, don't wait for the low battery 
message, or visible corrosion, and don't wait for 40 years before changing 
it!!!
