They are expensive.

I actually came across an original unused (yes, unused) original ARP 4075 filter submodules. It was faulty, but I found the fault: a production error (a short) on the PCB. Fairly easy corrected. So this submodules was probably selected out during the production phase. What to do with it? Well, inspired by the Tangerine Dream Project Electronics modular, I of course made a 5U modules with it, and it works like a charm. Veroboard for the external components, as described in the schematics, and drilled holes for the submodules. Scaffer front panel to suit. So the idea of having 5U and 3U modules that can easily fit submodules is a thought.
