I’m 67 with bad eyesight and not so steady hands, but I guess it’s time for me to learn how to do SMD. Any advice for how to get started?

OPA1678 should drop in and better in almost every application.

But do you REALLY need this op-amp ?  It's expensive for what it is with lots of alternatives nowadays.

Sorry if this is not on topic, but I need the DIP version of this chip, but apparently there are a lot of counterfeits floating around, even on Amazon. Does anyone have a reliable source for the DIP version of this opamp?
