Hi Brian

I'd put them inside a full 1U case to protect them - these go out on the road for a hire company.  But yes a full new front panel with the units bolted to it is obviously the way to go as of course the labels won't be on their sides giving the roadies cricked necks reading them 🙂

Is it two different Front Panel Express or one with two locations ?  In any case Berlin is fine - I'll use them.  Many thanks for the lead.

I missed the latter part of your message in my haste to point out that Front Panel Express is a German company.

You're right that it should be very straightforward to have FPE fabricate a full 19" front panel with all the mounting holes needed for your electronics to mount three modules to one front panel. FPE has templates for standard 1U rack panels, so all you need are the measurements of your mounting points.

Depending upon whether you need an enclosure, you could just get by with the front panel only, and have the PCB just hanging out inside the rack. It would not be EMF shielded, but few Euroracks are, given the popularity of plastic Eurorack cases.

Front Panel Express has screen printing options for the face plate, as well as engraving. For some reason, painting the engraved letters gets to be expensive if you have a lot of separate labels. My cheat is to get black anodized aluminum stock from FPE, and then the engraved letters will be silver without needing to pay for the paint.
