[sdiy] AI code generation

You’re right; web search is now just a funnel to Gemini; a low-context Gemini with Google as its MCP.
Claude is a power tool for me. As a hobbyist with scarce free time it has helped me finish projects that would have languished. But honestly if I spend an afternoon just prompting a console, it’s not very satisfying. It’s like cooking up a pcb and waiting for it to get fabricated.
What that experience does show me is how absurdly ambitious my ideas are and how fully implementing my ideas blows scope. I am very impressed with the results but get vertigo thinking about how steep the climb really was.
What Claude and Gemini both got wrong: Minimizing circuit noise. Only experimentation and patience got me through the hardware issues. I wasted some money buying parts they said would help. Won’t do that again, but it was one of the AI suggestions that led to an optimal solution.
I learned a lot because I am curious and can’t resist asking the model as many “whys” as possible. I can’t afford to do that at my day job.
