Oldschool DMX uses 5-pin but most new stuff has 3-pin.

Be careful with 4-pin, broadcast cameras and associated equipment use that for 12V power with ground on pin 1 (nearest the tab, wide-spaced side) and +12 on pin 4 (nearest the tab, narrow-spaced side).

3-pin is used in some comms equipment for 24V power with pin 1 being ground and pin 2 being +24.
