Do you have a link to the patent ?  I found an interesting article about the feedback counters but it wasn't detailed enough to say exactly how it worked.

Yes the VCO in the ProSoloist/DGX is often misunderstood as digital, it is actually analog.  The patent explains it much better.  Definitely unique and very very stable.
