Yeah, I would sooner build a lag for the cv out to go through with the fet to trigger it.  For bow I’ll just use the pedal.  Sorry for the anticlimax.

Hmm, I suppose you could buy a MIDI-to-CV kit (or design one yourself) and then program it to have velocity-threshold controlled portamento. Many MIDI-to-CV systems have portamento, since they're generating the pitch CV.

I realize it's a much bigger project than an FET (or 4066), but it's within the realm of possibility.
