Also make sure to get, if you don't have yet:

- heavy duty aluminium foil tape (to use as heat shield)
- kapton tape (wide)
- tacky flux in a syringe
- silicone mat base so you don't heat up whatever the pcb is sitting
on. or you can get an ipad screen replacement heat plate, those are
silicone, cheap, and great for preheating stuff up to mid temp. I
bought this exact one, works up to 120C so it accelerates the
soldering without getting stuff too hot:

it's worth getting a microphone arm or a machinist's gauge arm to
position the hot air gun freely around your desk. but i haven't done
it so i don't know which ones are good. and you'll need a way of
attaching it. it's not something you should be 3d printing... but you
can bend a bracket together out of brass or mild steel. or just use a
soda can or something.
