[sdiy] CNC for synth DIY?

Another thing I've been thinking about recently is vacuum tube manufacture.

- cnc mill a metal envelope
- cnc mill stamp and forming dies for various electrodes
- rather than use glass envelopes with integrated vacuum extraction
tubes, which is difficult and requires a large workshop, use a
two-part metal envelope. put the unsealed tube in a vacuum chamber,
and using basic (for today) robotics, press the tube's top and bottom
together, maybe folding it over like a can lid. or weld it together.

I wonder how small one could make tubes at that point, if all that was
desired was a signal tube and not any sort of power handling at all.

One could experiment with different electrode configurations.

Just shooting the breeze.
