[sdiy] CNC for synth DIY?

I make lettering with laser engraver. Well, I used to make, as I don't 
make anything these days. Anyway, turns out that 2.5W LED laser is 
enough to blank out black anodized aluminium. But it depends where it 
was anodizes and how. At some point I got black strips of aluminium that 
was fully resistand to my laser. Literally not a trace left at all.
