If I were you, I would look for a solution within your DAW rather than in
hardware form. I am not familiar with Sonar at all, so I can't be specific,
but in other DAWs, there are usually plugins that allow all sorts of MIDI
note manipulation. You usually just place the MIDI plugin immediately
before your synth plugin. You could even place a few in a row, like a
plugin that creates chords from single notes and then another that makes
arpeggios from those chords.
