[sdiy] MIDI commands to drive external clock steps..

Apart from MIDI clock as others mentioned, also consider the option of 
using "irregular" pulses.
The simplest is to use Note-On / Note-Off and turn that into a Gate, 
which then clocks the sequencer.
Then you can lay out the steps and timings freely in the PC.
