Usually the bridge rectifiers go bad on those. Though if it is the
transformer you can probably find something that fits physically and
matches the output requirements with a little digging. If it's the bridge
rectifier, you want to replace it with a slightly higher amperage rated one.
Interesting that your customer is well versed enough in electronics to
diagnose a blown transformer but not well versed enough to repair it
themselves. Sounds like a real unicorn.
