Simulations seem to do really wonky stuff around charging and discharging capacitors - a simple SCR relaxation oscillator running off 9V can give you well over 100V peak output, apparently.

I guess it's to do with discontinuities and stuff breaking down a bit around those points, but it sure is fun to see.
