I recommend Analog Circuit Design - Art, Science and Personalities, edited
by Jim Williams.

https://archive.org/details/williams_analog-circuit-design

It's not your typical electronics book. With contributions from great
names in electronics, it's a mixture of humour, philosophy and circuit
design.

You'll find chapters like:
- Is Analog Circuit Design Dead? (Williams),
- The Story of the P2 (first successful solid state opamp (Pease),
- A tale of three diodes,
- Understanding why things don't work,
- Should Ohm's law be repealed?,
- Where do little circuits come from? (Gilbert),
- Current feedback amplifiers (Franco)
- Starting to like electronics in your twenties.(George Erdi)
and
- The zoo circuit; History, Mistakes and Some Monkeys Design a Circuit.

Electronics books don't usually make you grin....
