[sdiy] What's the best freeware schematic capture and PCB layout software

If you don't put the screw into the Project File then it won't appear on the 3D model to see if it's going through some other component, or that the nut can be tightened.  The schematic should just be one item in the project file, along with the BOM, the Gerbers and the placement files for SMD, flow soldering, hand soldering and final assembly.
