I'm pretty sure at least one of my cameras can generate timecode in and out, which is basically just an FSK signal. In fact, the DSR500WSP is sitting right beside me - yup, TC in and out.

I could probably try to record some audio tones off it and fire you a .wav file, or better yet capture them along with some video. It might work for testing.
