[sdiy] flashing LED?? blinking led FLED (are they internally similar to a UJT?)

I was taking apart a toy robot a couple of years ago and discovered it used self-flashing LEDs. I purchased some off Amazon and googled them. Apparently some of these multicolor flashing LEDs can produce a specific color if you feed them a specific PWM amount from your microcontroller; a poor man’s Neopixel.
But never tried this.
