While publishing the code itself would be problematic, since it's almost certainly copyright, commenting about it is something that we can all do.
Does that copyright even exist any longer? 1984 was 40 years ago. How long does it last in whatever the relevant jurisdiction is? Might that be why they've sacked a few dozen lawyers since then - not much point keeping them around with no legal basis to do anything?
I'd love to read a line-by-line analysis of the Juno106 firmware, and see a few diagrams/graphs of the data ion the look-up tables. While that's clearly a niche interest, this is probably the list where the other denizens of that niche reside!
