I seem to recall that some synth modules do not respond to the full 128 Note range, or at least when they do respond they wrap to a repeated octave within their range.
I have not seen documentation of the limitations for various popular synths, but you might want to ensure that your pedal board does not transit a MIDI Note number that is so low that it ends up being out of range, especially given that you're already planning to separate the "stop" as separately programmable.
