[sdiy] using a dac as a digitally controlled amplifier

Another example occurred to me, which is the Sequential Pro-FX programmable effects unit. It uses various techniques to control the circuits, but the 7524 8-bit MDAC is amongst them.

The MDAC is still available as the Analog Devices AD7524, Texas TLC7524, PMI PM7524, Micro Power Systems MP7524, and Maxim MX7524 if you want to try it!
