Yes some compromises had to be made to fit into the fewer pins.  For
many DIYers SOP is much easier to solder than QFN.
- No access to the mixer
- No sine wave converter
- No FM

But you do get a very stable and wide tracking (~11 octaves to within
1 cent) VCO in a teeny weeny package needing very few external
