[sdiy] Helmholtz synthesizer

Today I was in a local science museum (https://www.teylersmuseum.nl/en) and saw this gem. It’s called ‘Klankmenger’ in Dutch, and was built by Rudolph Koenig in ca. 1875 after a design by Hermann von Helmholtz. They call it a precursor to the modern synthesizer.
