Hi there,

Roughly 100 years ago Roman posted about Vishay phasing out labels on their 0603 resistors. That change has deeply effected me professionally and emotionally. I used Vishay CRCW0603 resistors for everything and even occationally celebrated how great they were and how I could get a reel of 5000 from Arrow for $7. That was 2015, a simpler time. Since the change, I have the change notice from Vishay on my wall behind my computer. When I order parts I look for the ones that they list as not losing their labels, which of course cost substantially more. I have experimented with several other brands…. Bournes has a ridiculous labeling system that makes no sense, some of the others show a part with labels in the photo and then there isn’t anything on the part.

I get it: The “real” customers of Vishay don’t need the labels/prefer them to be blank. But for a small shop like mine, I am constantly trying to figure out if the right part is placed and when they are all black…..
Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem? I’m hoping Mouser adds a “Has/Has Not Labels” column on the search engine.

Mark
