Hi!
20 ms is a lot. See the old broadcast equipment EMT 266 Transient Limiter
for example, which has an analog delay of 0.3 ms, corresponding to 14
samples in 48 kHz digital audio, or 10 cm of sound travelling through air.

So you'll likely need a BBD or something digital, I'm afraid.
