Ø

Ø Are there non-ideal behaviour in polypropylene that makes filters "sound good", or is C0G in fact less ideal in some respect?

Douglas Self covers this in reasonable detail in his book, referring to work by Cyril Bateman. Basically C0Gs below 1nF are distortion free, above this polypropylene is also distortion free but polyester film has a definite distortion proportional to voltage across it.

Of course distortion may be what you are after of course in making something ‘sound good’ :-)
