[sdiy] IGBT as op amp?

You probably could make a linear amplifier out of IGBTs but they are really intended for high-power switching applications like motor drives, etc.

Since they are primarily intended for switching service they are designed to minimise the linear region because dwelling in this region results in losses and excess heat to be displayed.
