[sdiy] Momentum in front panel controls?

Along those lines. Forget where and what it was but I'm thinking it was
the transport knob on a video editing console that I was using.
It had a high end optical encoder with ball bearings. Attached to it was
a big knob with a lot of mass and a 'dimple' for your finger. You could
take it and give it a spin and it would keep going for a while.
