Hi Steve, JoeF and any others following,

Which goes to show that I didn't look hard enough for what 'BP' and 'BN'
were - the large 'Powering an Echo Rockit from Your Dual Supply' led me to:

>From the pin 11 reading I am assuming you are trying to run off +9, -9V
split
> supplies:

And as Samuel Jackson once noted in a film:

"...everyone knows, when you make an assumption, you make an ass out of
'you' and 'umption'."

So now I am feeling a bit of an ass, and thanks for the correction by Steve!

Thus please ignore what I said, and I concur with the inconsistent readings
between pins 5 & 7!
