Danjel,
It comes down to how deep you want to be able to render detail. I use Xara
to do my renderings and they are to scale and photorealistic, but you may
need ray tracing or specular lighting features etc.
Most vector based apps would be a good choice because you can scale
properly and get down to ridiculous detail. All depends on the level of
frustration you are willing to endure.
