I don't think anyone has mentioned the problem of replies to replies to replies with the same pictures quoted over and over. I see this all of the time with groups that are mostly read through their web portal. I don't mind maintaining a huge email archive going back decades but scrolling through acres of the same text 'tis but a scratch compared to all of those (often oversized to begin with) pictures.
