[sdiy] Powering 4ms pod

I did check contact between the leads on the back of the tip and the contacts where the power jack are soldered inside the 4ms pod with my multimeter continuity setting and it seems to be making a connection. Maybe the 0.4mm difference is negligible?
Also, the on and off isn’t random like a bad connection, but very regular.
Does this “motor boating” idea make sense? It is a 90w power supply and the 4ms requires minimum 20w
