[sdiy] Fume extraction

IMHO anything that is just a fan and thin layer of whatever, is just
making you believe it's working, but it's lying. It only takes out the
big, visible particles. All the bad stuff is still circulating in the room.
For many years I have simply sucked it all outside, using complex setup
of intake box with fans, pipe duct and final sucking fan straight to one
of the ventilation inlets in the room. With filters on the way too, to
at least stop some of it. But obviously it's not efficient to work like
that during winter, because it pumps a lot of warm air outside.
Then I bought big fume extractor from Quick and I'm good. It has like
40cm thick filter of various kinds. Adjustable speed, while the lowest
setting seems enough.

It's even more important to add another hose connected to fume extractor
over your iron stand, because most of the fumes in the room come from
soldering iron tip nicely sitting on the stand, generating soldering
fumes like it's 1970.
