[sdiy] Fume extraction

I would love to get something like the Weller, how do you feel about the
volume level on that one? A system that turns on when the iron is lifted
would be wonderful, but that's a much steeper investment.
Like Todd, I'm also in the market for something. I'm doing a lot of repair
work on keyboards, so something I can maneuver above my bench would be
ideal, where extension tubes or arms don't double the price. I'm OK with
DIY for the hose and some kind of arm if needed, but would prefer at least
the extraction side of things be off the shelf.
Most extractor reviews I've read have wildly different baselines for noise
level which makes the purchase daunting, or don't specify if they're in a
production environment or home office. Forum posts implying an extractor is
as loud as a shop vac when others say the same model was whisper quiet. On
the other hand I saw a lot of this when I bought a projector and the "above
average" volume one I got is no louder than a laptop fan, so maybe I need
to just bite the bullet.
