I have the Weller WXMT, too. I find that I need a third tool to hold the SMD parts on the board because the surface tension of the solder often keeps the parts (capacitors or resistors, but not SOIC) stuck to the tweezers. I have a few pointy metal tools that are small enough to fit between the tweezers and hold the part down.
I do not assembly my own boards, though. I use the WXMT for situations where the PCB design is finished, but fine-tuning the value of passives is yet to be determined. So, lots of iterations of trying a different capacitor value at eight placements on a board, and that goes quite quickly. However, I learned that "fast" often leads to "cold solder joints" - although that may merely mean that I need more experience with the tools.
