Maybe it would be worth respinning your board to take SOIC-8 TL072 as well as through-hole?  You'd maybe need to make a custom footprint and think carefully about how tracks cross underneath.

It's mental that Farnell are showing a lead time of May next year for their cheapest TL072CDT at £0.136 each for a reel of 2500!  You'd have to go for the TL072CDR for slightly more at £0.136 each per 1000.

If you want through-hole then you'd have to buy the much much more expensive TL072IP at £0.80 apiece, or £0.66 each per thousand.

For a fifth of the price it's probably worth thinking about going SMD...
