With all respect, this isn't true. Given an example--or good 
measurements, or an accurate tracing--I can and have produced similar 
side panels for other synths using my CNC machine. It can take a few 
iterations to get exactly right, but there's no absolute barrier to 
doing this.

It's even fairly easy to do using hand tools--though I definitely don't 
have those skills.

If you were in Seattle, I'd happily do it for you.
