It's interesting that the chorus in the Juno 106, which people always hold up as the thing to emulate, has fairly flat bass response and a 24dB/oct Butterworth filter rolling off at 10kHz. Anecdotally, a digital chorus effect doesn't sound anything like as good without a bloody great lowpass on it.
