I previously used Raaco many-drawered cabinets with Dynamo labels on them. After some years the labels lost their “stick” and started falling off, so I recently emptied all the drawer contents into heavyweight (so they stand up tall on their own) 6x4” zip-lock bags in plastic tubs.

I label the bags with a sharpie along one side and have the zip edge to the right — that way the label is at the top for fast random access, and my fingers don’t wear away the sharpie label when opening/closing the bag.

This is also far more dense than the Raaco cabinets.

For more bulky parts like jacks/pots/knobs I use some plastic multi-compartment cases of the kind you might use to store collections of fasteners.
