Speaking of supply chain fun, a really nice *small* SP4T rotary Grayhill switch has gone from a pricey $10 to $16. So that's well beyond nuts for most of us I'm sure. Alternatives? This is for digital control, so I can work with 2 bits or 1 of 4 some other way. I'm thinking a pushbutton with internal multicolor LED and a PIC or ATTINY (assuming you can buy those?!).
I really like that the switch is both selector and indicator, so that needs to be replicated.
Bonus points: Smallish (both diameter and depth). Uses only one round panel hole.
So at the moment, I'm trying to find a quality small-ish pushbutton with internal LEDs and this is my stumbling block. Another possibility are those little TTP223 digital capsense boards behind the (plastic) panel and just an LED. The LED though would have to mechanically hold the capsense board though.
