Indeed. That's an easy way to implement Karplus-Strong plucked string 
synthesis using readily-available tools. From a DSP standpoint the comb 
filter is just a short delay line with feedback and fractional delay set 
by the desired pitch. Robert Rich and I designed something like this as 
the "Resonators" algorithm in the E520 multi-effects processor.
