Thanks , I will experiment this weekend. 

Even if I cannot upgrade the OS I still really like this synth. VAST seems to be very deep and vast :-) so that will keep me very occupied.

I did have a K2000R for a short period of time, but it got swapped for the 2500.

One of the greatest synths ever. I have two: an old K2000 that I restored and a K2500XS + KDFX. I know some secrets on the latter that make it even better than what most people think it has as capabilities. 


In case the upgrade doesn't work, just use the default version you bought and learn V.A.S.T. on it. There are some suppliers of firmware upgrades on chips on eBay as a last resort.
