Ø  AK is a highly regarded manufacturer when it comes to their DAC chips. Last year or so, one of their factories caught fire. This prompted many manufacturers to revise their products when they had already settled on designing with AKM chips.

Yep !   I had to design out the AKM ADC and DAC I was using so changed to TI PCM1808 and PCM5102A.  And so did everybody else so those are impossible to get now either !  Currently stuck with some Cirrus chips which don’t perform as well but are available.
