[sdiy] Oberheim Matrix 6 ---- 3.6v Lithium battery replacement.. or not ?

Rechargeable memory batteries are more prone to leakage (Korg Polysix,
etc).  If you shop around, you should be able to find a battery holder that
fits nice.  I wouldn't worry if it sits slightly above the board, it
shouldn't be under mechanical stress unless you're really throwing the
keyboard around.  If you're worried about losing patches, the more pressing
course of action would be to back them up via sysex dump.
