But isn't this precisely what happens with foldback wedges on the stage 
in front of a vocalist?  (Even with no electrical delay the wedge 
monitors are still several feet from the singer so there will be 
milliseconds of delay.)

Or is there non of the singer's microphone mixed into their own wedge 
monitor speaker?

Sorry if my ignorance of live sound production is showing me up here!
