In a similar vein: Roland’s lovely “the synthesizer” books circa 1978 suggest feeding a bit of the keyboard pitch signal into the VCA in a “conventional” east-coast patch to compensate for perception of loudness varying with pitch. Don’t need much for it to be noticeable!
