I think it depends which of the 2 keyboard versions you have. At least one
of them was a Pratt Read keybed. If yours is, you could consider rebushing
it, cleaning the key contacts, and seeing how happy you are with it. If
not, maybe keep an eye out on the auction sites and try to purchase a
replacement for your current one.
I don't think there's much of anything going on in the alpha syntauri
keyboard itself (basically a lot of switches and a cable to the computer),
so it doesn't really make much sense to try to send MIDI to the keyboard.
It would probably make more sense to throw out the keyboard and create a
new custom interface card to put MIDI straight into the computer. That's a
different kettle of fish. Someone on here that's better at computers than
me would have more insight into how to do it. Seems like a lot of effort
for a debatable amount of reward.
