Well said. Remaining in the 1980s limits you to 1980s sounds.
I'd also say that if you have a particular slot where the new TL07xH doesn't perform well, then there are probably far better op-amps than the original TL07x around anyway for around the same price.
At least unless you like the sound of 'authentic' phase inversion that is :-)

If synth DIY is science and art, the constraints of the market drive us to change our science. The art is adapting the new science to be pleasing to the ears.
The quest for authenticity is not very satisfying. The quest for expressiveness is much more rewarding.
And that’s a pretty easy way to judge a Behringer knock-off, too. Can you express yourself well with this thing? Or are you only reminded of its differences from the original?
